Let's meet the Affinity System consultant. Working from home, they work around 10 - 15 hours a month and yet are able to hit their financial targets. They are able to find the right clients who are eager and ready to work with them on a consistent basis. With a reliable 'system' built in to their business, they are able to replicate impressive results month after month.
The clients they find and eventually work with aren't just any client. They are people who are willing to pay thousands for access to the right information. More about that in a moment...
I recently worked with a consultant who has a fee of £9,000 for access to their 3-month online training platform plus a one hour a week group coaching call on Zoom. Another is charging £5,000 for something similar with an on-going fee of £10,000 a year.
These are not one-off cases - hundreds of thousands of consultants, coaches, mentors, trainers, instructors and service providers are doing exactly the same. Why would perfectly sane people pay someone (you) thousands to train them, when there are so many others who charge next to nothing? The answer is because they have the right information. What qualifies as the right information for that potential client?

One of the biggest mistakes I see people make is that they try to appeal to a wide audience. Too many services, too many price points, too many options. By going wide, you're placing yourself directly in the line of fire! Not only are you inviting potential client to price-shop you, you're also competing with the big guys!
Large multi-national corporates with a portfolio of globally-recognised brands in every category. They have access to things that you do not - endless resources, a global distribution chain, a hungry audience, a pipeline of new product launches, a network of top ad agencies and deep, deep pockets of cash.
It will be your undoing. Offering all things to all people leaves you in a vulnerable and fragile position, ready to be picked off by the vultures. It will also leave you with the gargantuan-sized task of pulling off a miraculous turnaround with little to no resources or capital.

and they are willing to pay whatever price you set to get a guaranteed result. They don't have time to waste on low-price, low-calibre providers because they have a bleeding neck and they need ER - stat! Your first fix is to decide on which message, which solution, which sub-niche to aim for. Building in a very narrow sub-niche, with a very specific offer for a very defined set of needs is a winner every time. It will allow you to build fast and become known in that market. Once you have conquered one market, conquer them all, if you so desire.
Engineer your solution to a very specific problem that you know you can solve quickly and reliably for the client. I find it best to start with the thing that you are known for, the thing you are best at, that you know you can deliver consistent results on.
Reduce it down to one simple message that immediately signals to the type of client for whom you created the solution for. Reduce it to the nth degree, so it communicates your value to the target in perfect simplicity. Not one word more.
One of the biggest frustrations is time. You cannot create it and yet you make your living by chunking out time everyday.
